Apple Releasing iPhone/iPod Touch SDK in February 2008
Thursday 18 October 2007Yesterday Apple announced that they will be releasing an iPhone/iPod Touch Software Development Kit (SDK) for third-party developers. Now, developers will be able to make native applications for the iPhone or iPod Touch. Until this point, the only official way to develop applications for the iPhone or iPod Touch was through web apps.
People have been complaining about the lack of a third-party SDK since the iPhone came out. Now people wonder why this is taking so long. Steve Jobs says that they are trying to develop an SDK that will give users a lot of functionality while also trying to “protect iPhone users from viruses, malware, privacy attacks, etc.”
I can’t wait to see some of the applications that people develop for the iPhone.
