iPhone Firmware 1.1.2 Coming on Friday
Thursday 8 November 2007Apple has confirmed that this Friday, they will be releasing Firmware version 1.1.2 for the iPhone. This update coincides with the UK launch of the iPhone. The update is expected to include wider language support with international keyboards and special character keys, and access to The Cloud Wi-Fi hotspots for UK users.
There is no word yet on whether this update will fix the TIFF exploit in Safari that has allowed users to “jailbreak” their iPhone (and iPod Touch). We can only expect that Apple will seal this exploit.
There is also no word on whether there will be an update to the iPod Touch tomorrow. If they do fix the TIFF exploit for the iPhone, you can expect them to fix it on the iPod Touch too.
This firmware update will be available through iTunes.
