iPhone a Big Disappointment?
Tuesday 18 December 2007PC World has named the iPhone as one of The Biggest Technology Disappointments of 2007. It reached number 5 on the list still behind Yahoo, Facebook Beacon, the High-Def Format War, and Microsoft Windows Vista.
The editors there believe that the iPhone itself is a nifty piece of hardware, their complaint is more with AT&T’s broadband service and the (too soon) $200 price drop. They also point out the disappointment (and anger) from some users who hacked their iPhone only to have it bricked by a firmware update.
These three points from the editors are extremely valid points. I believe that the device (hardware) still sits that the top of my favorite items this decade (not only this year). I think a purchase of the iPhone (or get one free!) is still very much worth it.
