WWDC Keynote - Next Monday

Thursday 5 June 2008

Just a quick note to let you know that we are still here and looking forward to the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) .  There are so many rumors flying around right now.  Some of the rumors are insane (and not iPhone related).  I won’t even attempt to speculate.

If anything cool iPhone (or iPod Touch) comes out on Monday, I will let you know.  Any new or different products may change the requirements for the free iPhone (and iPod Touch).

You can get a free Apple iPhone (or iPod Touch), just like I did. The steps are extremely easy:
  1. Fill out a short form with your information.
  2. Complete a simple exclusive offer or two.
  3. Have a few friends do the same.
  4. Click here (iPhone) or here (iPod Touch) to get started.

3G iPhone Launch Date?

Tuesday 20 May 2008

Gizmodo is reporting (iPhone 3G Launch Date Confirmed) that the 3G iPhone will launch June 9th at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).  They go on to say that the second generation iPhone will be available worldwide shortly after the announcement.  Many have speculated that the second generation iPhone (with 3G) would be announced on June 9th, but many had thought that it wouldn’t be available until the end of the year.

Will the 3G iPhone be announced and available on June 9th?  We can only wait to see.  I know that I will be following the live feeds of the WWDC Keynote (with Steve Jobs).  I will post more as I find out.

I am counting down the days until WWDC, are you?

Developers Getting Early Access to iPhone SDK

Wednesday 28 November 2007

On Monday, Electronista reported (Some developers getting early iPhone SDK?) that some developers are getting early access to the iPhone/iPod Touch Software Development Kit (SDK).

This means that the development of the iPhone/iPod Touch SDK is moving right along. This is great news. I hope that it means that we will have some great applications for the iPhone/iPod Touch without having to hack the little machine.

I can’t wait to see what some of these very creative developers come up with.

Apple Releasing iPhone/iPod Touch SDK in February 2008

Thursday 18 October 2007

Yesterday Apple announced that they will be releasing an iPhone/iPod Touch Software Development Kit (SDK) for third-party developers. Now, developers will be able to make native applications for the iPhone or iPod Touch. Until this point, the only official way to develop applications for the iPhone or iPod Touch was through web apps.

People have been complaining about the lack of a third-party SDK since the iPhone came out. Now people wonder why this is taking so long. Steve Jobs says that they are trying to develop an SDK that will give users a lot of functionality while also trying to “protect iPhone users from viruses, malware, privacy attacks, etc.”

I can’t wait to see some of the applications that people develop for the iPhone.

This announcement was posted to the Apple Hot News section, but there is no direct link. Check out the Hot News section before the announcement disappears.

Apple Releases iPhone Design Handbook

Thursday 4 October 2007

The other day (Monday 10/01/2007), Apple released a guide called iPhone Human Interface Guidelines. This document outlines (for web developers) how to create sites specifically designed for the Apple iPhone’s web browser.

This guide is a must have if you plan on designing sites or pages specifically for the iPhone.  Even if you aren’t planning on developing iPhone sites, it is still a very interesting read.

  1. Fill out a short form with your information.
  2. Complete a simple exclusive offer or two.
